Havins Unit Release Destinations
Thomas R. Havins Unit is part of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Correctional Institutions Division. A person leaving Havins may enter state parole or mandatory supervision, reach maximum-expiration discharge, transfer to another TDCJ unit, or move under another lawful authority. None of those events is a Brown County Jail release. The statewide record controls even though the gate is within Brown County.
Parole means physical prison confinement ends while the sentence continues under Parole Division supervision. A favorable parole vote is not physical release. Review and Release Processing must finish the release plan and eligibility work. Conditions, residence rules, discipline, required programs, and registration criteria may remain. Exact vote codes matter because some favorable codes are contingent, while denial codes set later review or require service to another point.

The free email route does not supply photographs. When the fact needed is an actual historical discharge, release type, or releasable incarceration history, use the TDCJ Public Information Act process.

State copying rules and review can apply. For durable legal context, obtain the judgment and sentence from the court. For the physical state event, obtain TDCJ history or release documentation. Do not substitute a court eligibility date, a Board vote, or a roster absence for the actual release.
